I can’t believe it’s been seven months since I have written a blog post! My projects of late have been boring and not worthy of posting. I painted the trim and doors on the second level of our home this winter, which really is nice to have done.
The upstairs bathroom needed some updating.
I started out with painting the cabinets. I took the hardware off, removed the doors and brushed on a coat of tinted primer before spraying them with Chelsea Gray by Benjamin Moore. You can check out the details of the process in this blog post.
I switched out the hardware and added some beauty with these handles that I got at Target. I didn’t have to drill new holes for them, so it was easy to do.
Next, I decided to add some subway tile as a backsplash and also behind the toilet. Since there was already a row of bullnose tiles around the shower, it worked well. After that, I also added subway tile above the shower insert on the three walls.Next, I found some pretty wallpaper from Wayfair. Since I only needed a small area covered, I decided that this black and white floral would be pretty.
Next, I added a new mirror and light fixture. I got the round mirror at Hobby Lobby. It was originally a bronze color, so I spray painted it oil rubbed bronze in order to coordinate with the light fixture that I picked up at Home Depot. You can find the link for the light fixture here.
This room is difficult to photograph because the lights are so bright and there isn’t any natural light.
I was hesitant about doing wallpaper, but I’m really liking how it turned out. I think the black and white keeps the look simple and not over powering. Here is a link for the wallpaper.
Here are some more before and after photos.
I would love to hear your feedback. Thanks for stopping by!
